Hours per fortnight -80
Job Category -Nursing - Registered Nurse (Div 1)
- Deliver clinical therapies and consultation to consumers, families and carers
- Lead team operations and provide clinical and line management supervision
- Work with consortium partners on service development, reporting and quality improvement
About the role
The Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System challenged us to go beyond incremental improvement and build a system that helps all Victorians live their best lives. The Greater Geelong and Borough of Queenscliffe (GGQ) Mental Health and Wellbeing Local is a key step towards that goal. It is delivered by a consortium of equal partners: Barwon Health, Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative, Wellways Australia and ermha365. The service is built on positivity, hope and inclusion. Whether people reach us online, by phone or in person, every first contact starts with a simple question: "Welcome, how can we help?"
As Senior Mental Health Clinician, employed by Barwon Health, you'll deliver clinical therapies and consultation to consumers and their families, and help shape the service as it grows. You'll lead day-to-day team operations, support clinical staff through supervision, and work closely with our consortium partners to deliver connected, person-centred care across the region. The role works a rotating roster that includes after-hours and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical therapies and primary and secondary consultation to consumers, families and carers, both within the Local and with external services
- Lead the ongoing development and daily operations of the team, including clinical and line management supervision of clinical staff
- Collaborate across the consortium partnership and contribute to data reporting, service development, quality improvement and evaluation
What We Are Looking For
You're an experienced mental health clinician who enjoys leading others and building something new. You bring strong clinical skills and a collaborative, recovery-oriented approach, and you're comfortable working in a service that is still evolving.
- Demonstrated experience delivering clinical therapies and consultation in a community mental health setting
- Experience providing clinical supervision and leadership, with strong partnership and stakeholder engagement skill.
Please note Barwon Health will only contact you via our official email and never use unconventional means, such as text messaging or other services.
- Excellent working conditions and a strong sense of job satisfaction
- A vibrant staff wellbeing program and access to our 24/7 Employee Assistance Program
- Attractive salary packaging benefits
- Living expenses capped at $9,010
- Meals and entertainment capped at $2,650
Barwon Health is an inclusive and welcoming employer, committed to reflecting the diverse communities we serve. We value and celebrate people of all genders, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, faiths, abilities, family structures, and identities, and encourage applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and members of the LGBTIQA+ community.
