Our Maternity Service is supported by a dedicated and proactive team of midwives and nurses, fostering a collaborative, professional, and supportive working environment. We pride ourselves on our consultative, team-based approach to patient care, with services operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive on-site and after-hours obstetric and gynaecology services across both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will also play a key role in supporting local General Practitioners Obstetricians and supervising junior medical staff (including HMOs and senior registrars), and contributing to clinical governance through audits and quality improvement activities.
A significant component of the position includes teaching and supporting medical students through the Monash Gippsland Regional Clinical School, contributing to the development of the future rural medical workforce.
Required skills and experience include- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG)
- Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Experienced in delivering comprehensive antenatal, perinatal and postnatal care, including ultrasound, with the ability to collaborate effectively with GP obstetricians and multidisciplinary teams.
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

WSLHD - Senior Registrar - Melanoma and Surgical Oncology - Westmead Hospital
Westmead Hospital is a key facility of one of Australia's largest major health and medical research precincts and is the principal referral hospital for Western Sydney Local Health District providing district level health services to Parramatta, Holroyd and The Hills Shire LGAs including tertiary and quaternary services to greater western Sydney, greater metropolitan Sydney, rural NSW and other states. Westmead Hospital provides approximately 638 acute overnight, 30 day only and 52 subacute beds. The Westmead Health Precinct currently under development is envisaged to be the biggest hospital building project undertaken in Western Sydney and will transform the iconic but ageing Westmead Hospital into an innovative, contemporary and integrated centre that will continue to deliverhigh quality healthcare and expand the education, health and research capability of the area.
Westmead Hospital is a leading centre of research, training and specialisations in all fields of medicine and dentistry, providing services in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, kidney and pancreas transplantation, cancer care, obstetrics and gynaecology, neonatal intensive care, trauma, bone marrow transplantation, critical care, aged care and rehabilitation, adult acute psychiatry (networked with the co-located Cumberland Hospital) as well as other highly specialised medical and surgical services.
The Westmead Hospital Emergency Department (ED) operates 24 hours, 7 days per week and manages all types and levels of illnesses and injuries. As one of six major trauma centres in the state, the ED also cares for people with the most severe physical injuries.
Westmead Hospital ED presentation numbers are among the highest in the state. Critical care services within Westmead Hospital are provided by the Intensive care unit and the medical and surgical high dependency units. Other specialist services that provide a high dependency level of care for patients within their clinical specialty wards include the Coronary Care Unit, Renal and Pancreas Transplantation and Haematology.
Over 120 different outpatient clinics for a number of different specialities and services provide ambulatory care to approximately 5,000 attendances per month.
The Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre Westmead is a purpose-built state of the art facility based at Westmead Hospital. The Centre provides fully integrated research, prevention, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation programs for patients and families coping with cancer. Palliative care and symptom control support, genetic counselling via the familial cancer service and Psych Oncology support via an onsite psychiatrist and psychologists is also provided at the Cancer Centre. A significant number of clinical trials are available for our patients when appropriate and we have the support of dedicated cancer laboratories undertaking current cancer research. The Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre is a statewide referral centre for Blood Transplant and Cellular Therapies. Our model of care includes a large number of tumour specific multi-disciplinary teams.
Westmead Hospital is one of Australia's largest centres for postgraduate training to specialist levels in all fields with over 100 PhD students and other postgraduate students supervised by Westmead Hospital scientists and clinicians. Westmead is home to internationally recognised institutes of health research, the most prominent being the Westmead Millennium Institute. The Westmead Millennium Institute is one of the largest medical research institutes in Australia, conducting research into a wide range of human disorders affecting both adults and children, including infectious and immune diseases, cancer and leukaemia, liver and metabolic diseases, eye and brain related disorders and heart and respiratory disorders.
What you'll be doing
- Provision of surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care of surgical oncology unit patients, undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and research.
- Involvement in MDT meetings for sarcoma, non-melanoma skin cancer, melanoma and thyroid cancer.
- Participation in the roster for on-call for the Acute Surgical Unit.
- Involvement in audit meetings for the Department and General Surgery.
- Responsibility for the maintenance of quality of all aspects of service delivery and the efficient use of resources within Western Sydney Local Health District.
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Must have obtained fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) or equivalent
- Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices that support credentialing to the position and are commensurate with the scope of practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
- Sound clinical knowledge and experience in general surgery/ head and neck surgery/surgical oncology
- Familiarity with the natural history and biological behaviour of melanoma, non- melanoma skin cancer (NMSC), thyroid cancer, sarcoma and malignancy of the head and neck.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.

About the role
The Statewide Services Program consists of Spectrum, Hamilton Centre and Turning Point and. Spectrum is Victoria's only statewide Centre for the specialist treatment of personality disorder and complex trauma and provides training and education and contributes to research in this area.
Turning Point is a national specialist alcohol, drug and gambling organisation that integrate treatment and support services with research, education and training.
This position involves:
Reporting to the Clinical Program Director, Mental Health and Wellbeing Program and Spectrum, and operating in accordance with Eastern Health's values, the Clinical Director of Spectrum will be responsible for delivering high level clinical leadership and governance for all clinical activities in accordance with the Spectrum's organizational chart and clinical governance processes. As a core member of Spectrum's leadership team, the Clinical Director will contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Spectrum's services and models of care with a focus on ensuring excellence in clinical care, teaching and research.
The Clinical Director of Spectrum is responsible for the leadership, management, development,implementation and delivery of a range of mental health care models that supports outcomes for people with personality disorder and complex trauma across the state of Victoria.
The Clinical Director Spectrum may be required to work across all Eastern Health campuses and other area mental health and wellbeing services of Victoria both clinically and non-clinically as part of their Clinical, leadership and management responsibilities and will operate in accordance with Eastern Health's values.
Provision of Clinical Services
- Direct and co-ordinate clinical service delivery at Spectrum, Eastern Health to ensure the highest possible quality of health care delivery including specialist clinics
- Develop and implement the use of effective evidence-based care for the treatment of patients across the Spectrum programs.
- Be actively involved in direct clinical service provision for patients and for the supervision of staff.
What you'll bring
Medical Professional requirements
- Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice;
- Fellowship of the RANZCP or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Demonstrable relevant knowledge and substantial clinical experience in personality disorder and complex trauma
- Meet Eastern Health requirements for appropriate credentialing and scope of practice in personality disorder and complex trauma
Clinical Leadership requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated high-level leadership, medical engagement and changing management skills
- Demonstrated expertise in health industry workforce and industrial systems
