What You'll Be DoingThe NSW Newborn Screening (NBS) Programme, situated in The Children's Hospital at Westmead, includes the State Reference Laboratory which screens all newborns in NSW and the ACT for the detection of over 30 inborn errors of metabolism. The Department also provides an advisory service for the further investigation, monitoring and management of patients detected with a disorder by the screening tests, as well as specialised services to interstate and overseas reference laboratories.
The PSO for NBS will be responsible for the quality and performance of all aspects of the NBS laboratory and will be the scientific representative of the laboratory at state, national and international levels. They should have a thorough knowledge of the scientific aspects of newborn screening and be abreast of technology changes in order to be able to bring innovation into the laboratory.
They will be expected to drive the development of services to meet the needs of the customer and to manage and implement change in accordance with quality principles.
The Principal Scientist will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team and consumers of the Sydney Children's Hospital Network to effectively deliver services.

- Listed as a Victorian Heritage Advisor, with the qualifications and experience required to lead CHMPs and supervise fieldwork in accordance with the Minister's Guidelines

The General Medicine department at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick are seeking 2 x 0.5 FTE (20 hours per week) Staff Specialists to join their team. What you'll be doing
Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, part of the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, is seeking the services of a paediatrician to provide short periods of leave relief to rural paediatricians across NSW. The "back to base" time is flexible and can be negotiated to complement the successful applicant's interests and skills and support their professional development. Just over half of the time will be spent in rural NSW, with the remainder of the time linked with the General Paediatric Department of the successful applicant's choice of one of the Children's Hospitals in NSW.
This is a 0.5 FTE temporary Staff Specialist position, for two years with the option to extend for a further two years pending performance review.
Successful applicants will provide excellent clinical services to children and their families as part of a multi-disciplinary team. They will participate in review and improvement activities, as well as training and education of staff. Successful applicants will be expected to abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Staff Specialist (State) Award.

About The RoleYou will be a senior medical member of the Adult Community Mental Health Service (ACMHS), a multidisciplinary team based service that includes specialist mental health nurses (including a GP liaison CNC), psychologists, allied health clinicians, and peer support workers. You will be working in a service alongside other senior medical officers, and psychiatry trainees. The goals of the ACMHS is to deliver consumer-focused, contemporary and meaningful care that meets the needs of consumers across several phases of care. Our ability to provide care coordination to consumers with
varied needs is supported by the many specialist facets of our service.
Our team based model is founded on the principles of collaborative and shared decision making between the senior medical member, clinical manager and team clinicians. Our teams are headed by a clinical manager, who works closely with the psychiatrist and clinicians to co-ordinates the multidisciplinary team activities. The ESMHS has 5 teams across two sites, and your position will be to provide leadership and clinical care in one of these teams. You are encouraged to work with your clinical manager and team to develop your own ways of working.
Our Adult Community teams are also supported by close linkages with other teams and NGOs. Consumers can engage with secondary support teams such as the Keeping Body in Mind (KBIM) teams, complex physical health clinicians, rehabilitation clinicians, and Pathways to Community Living (PCLI) initiatives.
Your Clinical Duties Will Encompass- Providing leadership, expert psychiatric evaluation, care and treatment planning in the Adult Community Mental Health Service.
- There is also opportunity to contribute to our ECT service and develop skills in this area.
- Actively participating in multidisciplinary team discussions in clinical review meetings.
- Liaising with inpatient and emergency psychiatry teams to ensure continuity of care and to facilitate transitions between areas of the service over your consumers journey.
- Providing oversight around use of the Mental Health Act in the community setting.
- Leading service improvement projects focused on optimising care in the community setting and during transitions of care between different settings.
- Evaluating clinical interventions to improve patient outcomes, reduce restrictive practices, increase connection with GP care, and support safer transitions of care.

Early Phase Project Manager must ensure studies are resourced effectively, managed efficiently, achieve project objectives within allocated budgets and agreed timelines and are conducted to the highest standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements and applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Project Manager mentors/coaches Junior Project Management staff or Clinical Delivery Leads and assists their technical development. Manage independently or with support from Portfolio Delivery Leads or Line Manager.
Responsibilities All activities must be conducted in accordance with project specific documentation, applicable SOPs, ICH GCP and applicable regulatory requirements. Maintain effective professional relationships with external customers, investigators and vendors. Maintain effective professional relationships with internal project team including those providing academic input. Provide clear guidance to project team on project specific deliverables.
Project Kick-off
- Attend relevant project specific meetings including formal kick-off meetings
- Develop project plan and other internal project management documents.
- Assist the originator of the project in the development of project specific
- Coordinate the feasibility planning and selection process of project sites
- Identify project specific activities that need to be outsourced and be involved in the selection of suitable vendor/s.
Delivery Of All Operational Aspects Of Allocated Project/s Including
- Contribute to the preparation of project specific budget where applicable
- Track budget for allocated portion of project
- Deliver relevant portion of project specific budget by guiding team and vendors on project scope, and forecasting and invoicing as agreed with customer
- Track project scope and propose scope changes for assessment
- Work with relevant personnel to identify potential clinical sites, oversee or conduct feasibility through questionnaire, interview and/or site visit as applicable
- Oversee the set-up of sites within relevant region in accordance with SOPs, protocol and all applicable regulatory guidelines
- Contribute to the calculation of project staffing levels
- Contribute to the identification of appropriate materials for project
- Monitor project progress against timelines
- Deliver project specific milestones as agreed with customer
- Coordinate project administration e.g. study management committee meetings, project newsletters
- Coordinate and drive internal project team to meet project specific deadlines
- Liaise with centre staff to ensure effective local management
- Drive project team to deliver clean, accurate and verifiable data for interim and final analyses
- Assist with the development of project documentation e.g. site manuals, operating procedures
- Review and sign-off monitoring visit reports
- Ensure patient safety and adverse/serious adverse events are reported according to regulatory requirements
- Initiate filing conventions for the project and team is trained on requirements
- File and archive clinical project data at end of project
- Provide or contribute to progress reports for project originator and other stakeholders
- Maintain regular contact with project team including academic leads
- Maintain contact with National Coordinators working within allocated region
- Be available as back-up contact for site staff on all project related matters
- Where applicable liaise with staff in Data Management and Statistics
- Divisions on project specific deliverables
- Co-ordinate the feasibility planning & selection process of all centers
- Manage and coordinate the establishment of study centers through:
- Ensuring each center has the necessary trial materials
- Contracts & agreements are in place
- Ensuring site research coordinators are fully equipped to carry out the study
- Training site staff on data management tools and principles
- Ensure the timely preparation & submission to ethics & regulatory authorities.
- Develop trial management systems
- Assist with the development of monitoring plans
- Manage the planning & set-up of investigator meetings; prepare presentation material & present information at these meetings
- Work with the clinical team to ensure timely & successful completion of trial
- Coordinate the study closeout visits
- Ensure final reconciliation of clinical supplies and ensure that all clinical supplies' documentation is complete for the study
- Coordinate the final archiving of study related documents
- Ensure the accurate completion and timely collection of data
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, completeness and timely data completion
- Ensure complete and efficient resolution of data queries
- Manage the study to ensure adherence with all protocol, SOPs, regulations & ICH-GCP
- Ensure distribution and collection of essential documents, reports and study materials and products to and from clinical sites Financial and Contractual
- Analyze monthly financial reports for all allocated projects to identify trends and reasons behind figures, accelerate as required.
- Understand all aspects of their project finance responsibilities and follow appropriate escalation pathways
- Maintain project utilization, revenue forecast and recognition identify and implement strategies for improvement (if required) and elevate any significant concerns to management
- Maintain gross margin across allocated projects to meet organizational goals.
- Review forecasts for all allocated projects in consultation with each allocated project lead, as needed, during month end billing and Project Finance Analyst meetings at least every quarter and develop contingency plans to address any project slippage
- Manage pass through report management to billing is finalized within agreed timelines
- Manage project review reporting to ensure survey responses are accurate, timely and submitted within agreed timelines
- Maintain list of all scope change documentation, collaborate with Proposal team to update pricing tool/budget
- Seek opportunities for expansion of scope and proactively follow up with BD & sponsor
- Initiate and maintain high level relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including trial sponsor staff, key opinion Leaders, hospitals, professional societies and associations where required.
- Review and contribute to all scope change proposals for allocated projects prior to finalisation and sponsor review
- Participate in bid defense presentations in partnership with Business Development and may lead the presentation for smaller, less complex regional studies.
- Ensure allocated projects are conducted in accordance with the Emerald Clinical Quality Management Strategy.
- In the event of an audit and/or inspection work with key project team members to ensure inspection/audit readiness and complete follow-up for all team members
- Ensure compliance with file reviews plan and documentation as specified by Sponsor and/or Emerald Clinical
- Ensure co-monitoring activities conducted in accordance with Sponsor and/or Emerald Clinical requirements

About the Role
The Clinical Research Associate 2 is a member of the Clinical Operations group at Emerald Clinical. The Clinical Operations group is responsible for site management, monitoring tasks, and the operational support of clinical trials. The group allocates resources to projects as appropriate to assist with implementing project plans and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Your Responsibilities
Coordinate the identification, feasibility assessment, and selection of investigators and sites to undertake the trial.
Complete all monitoring activities per the Monitoring Plan along with completing monitoring visit reports, accurately and within the predetermined timeframe.
Prepare, plan, organize, and conduct site evaluation visits and report on these visits to assist in site selection.
Prepare, submit, and/or liaise with regulatory specialist colleagues, regarding the preparation of regulatory packages, importation/exportation requirements, and updates of Ethics Committee packages.
Negotiate site budgets, coordinate for site contract execution, track invoicing, and ensure timely site payments.
Prepare, plan, organize, and conduct site initiation visits.
Develop and maintain appropriate monitoring tools and project-specific documents.
Motivate and train investigators to ensure that the trial site personnel have a good understanding of the protocol, investigational product, and requirements of the trial so they can fulfill their obligations to conduct the trial accurately and to deadlines. Collect, review, and approve essential documents from trial sites, to ensure quality and compliance, and code documents for Trial Master File (TMF) filing.
Reconcile contents of in-house TMF and site's Investigator Site Files.
Coordinate distribution, tracking, handling, and destruction of investigational product and other trial supplies per site/trial requirements.
Maintain trial information using the clinical trial management system and any other tracking and reporting tools for the trial.
Support strategies to boost recruitment efforts.
About You
Tertiary qualifications in a related science or health care discipline.
Previous experience in clinical trials within an academic, CRO, or pharmaceutical environment with more than 2 years' experience in on-site monitoring and site management experience is mandatory
Experience in Renal and/or Oncology clinical trials is a plus.
Demonstrate practical knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and global and local ethical and regulatory research requirements.
Display competence in the following technical areas: ethical and participant safety considerations, site start-up management, site conduct management, risk management, quality management, supply management, scientific concepts and clinical research design, and issue escalation management.
Demonstrate competence in the following business skill areas: negotiation and conflict resolution, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision making, and strategic thinking.

About the roleReporting to the Nugel Senior Program Manager, the Nugel Team Leader, will play a key leadership role in working with Aboriginal children and families, and Government and sector partners to strive for better outcomes for children and to build the capacity of families so that children can remain at home safely, or can be transitioned home.
Nugel implements Section 18 of the Child Youth and Families Act (CYFA) which transfers responsibility for decision making and direct work with Aboriginal children and their families from Department of Families Fairness and Housing (DFFH) Child Protection to VACCA. Key to transforming the way child protection is delivered, is implementing Nugel's unique practice approach which is based on Cultural Therapeutic Ways; a whole of agency approach that places culture at the centre and integrates this with theories of self-determination and trauma. The Team Leader is central to ensuring that this approach is delivered by staff they manage.
The Team Leader will provide supervision and leadership to a team of Case Managers, ensuring that all practice requirements are met. This includes investigation, assessment and action needed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in the program, in addition to developing case plans that meet the long-term needs of the child. Always ensuring staff practice in culturally safe ways in line with the Nugel Practice Approach and VACCA's Cultural Therapeutic Ways. In addition, they may be required to carry a small caseload.
About You 1. Commitment to VACCA's Vision and Cultural Values- Demonstrates strong alignment with VACCA's values and purpose, with the capacity to lead and advocate for these both internally and externally.
- Displays deep understanding and respect for Aboriginal cultures, with a commitment to ongoing learning and awareness of key issues affecting Aboriginal communities.
- Skilled in overseeing harm investigations, interviewing involved parties, managing children on protection orders, and supporting staff in court-related work, including report preparation and testimony.
- Understanding of the legislations, policy and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities.
- Leads complex casework involving trauma-affected children, using culturally safe and therapeutic approaches to support healing and building resilience.
- Capable of guiding and mentoring staff in understanding child development, trauma, and attachment, especially in the context of Aboriginal children.
- High-level written, computer, and administrative skills, with the ability to prepare, review, and maintain accurate reports and client records.
- Demonstrates emotional intelligence, self-care, flexibility in work hours (including on-call), and encourages a culture of learning and professional growth.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork in high-pressure environments, mentors' staff, and team wellbeing
A recognised Social Work degree or a similar welfare or behavioural related degree, valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and aVictorian Driver Licence.Current COVID-19 vaccination(Strongly Recommended).
