About AstraZeneca
AstraZeneca is a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company focused on Oncology; Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism (CVRM); Respiratory & Immunology (R&I); and Rare Disease. In Australia, we've delivered value to patients for more than 60 years, pushing the boundaries of science to bring transformative medicines to those who need them most.
AstraZeneca is building a diverse cell therapy clinical trial portfolio across oncology and immune-mediated diseases. With the new Field Clinical Advisor role, we're crafting an agile, field-based function that brings deep protocol expertise to sites and drives ongoing operational improvement.
What you'll do
Reporting to the Senior Director, Field Clinical Advisors APAC, you will act as the protocol expert and pipeline ambassador for cell therapy trial sites across Australia. This field-based role operates across multiple indications and trials.
You'll work closely with multiple internal and site teams to improve site readiness, enhance the journey patients experience, and support patient recruitment and retention. You will capture insights that inform how we operate and scale.

Key Responsibilities:
- Champion patient recruitment, retention and safety across assigned cell therapy trials, helping accelerate enrolment and generate early insights.
- Be the trusted field contact and protocol expert for sites, delivering advanced education and practical training that strengthens readiness, compliance and trial delivery.
- Partner with investigators and site teams to turn eligibility criteria into workable pathways, activate referral networks and remove barriers to enrolment.
- Resolve clinical and operational challenges, leading root-cause analysis and improvement actions to reduce deviations, queries and screen failures.
- Translate field insights on feasibility, patient pathways and operational barriers into recommendations that improve strategy and lift site performance.
- Bring together Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Patient Operations, Supply and Logistics, and Country Operations to provide seamless, concierge-level site support.
- Help develop and scale AstraZeneca Australia's new cell therapy function by developing training, SOPs and playbooks and embedding smarter ways of working.
Essential to the position
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline, advanced degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, MSc, NP, MD/RN).
- 5+ years' experience in clinical research, clinical trial operations or field-facing scientific roles, including direct site engagement within oncology, haematology and/or advanced therapy clinical trials. Experience in cellular therapy studies strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated GCP knowledge, and strong grasp of the cell therapy patient journey (apheresis/collection, logistics and safety management).
- Proven capability to deliver protocol education, translate complex requirements into practical site actions and influence without authority.
- Territory- or field-based experience supporting customers, investigators or clinical trial sites, with excellent partner engagement, communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel nationally to support study sites and program priorities.
- Patient- and site-centric attitude, a data-informed problem-solving approach and comfort working in a build-and-scale environment.
Desirable for the role
- Direct CAR-T, stem cell transplant or broader cell therapy experience.
- Existing cell therapy site relationships in Australia, with prior ownership of site performance metrics and/or operational improvement initiatives.
- Experience working within large pharma, in cross-functional site support models and using digital insight platforms.
- Credibility and confidence engaging Principal Investigators as a thought partner.
