Practice Manager (Full-Time) Greencross Vets Wetherill Park Sydney, NSW
Build a Team People Love Being Part Of
At Greencross Wetherill Park, we're looking for more than a Practice Manager.
We're looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse leader who enjoys bringing people together, creating a positive workplace culture, and supporting teams to do their best work every day.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Practice Manager, Head Nurse, or Senior Veterinary Nurse looking to take the next step in their leadership career. As this is a hands-on leadership position, a strong veterinary nursing background is essential, with regular nursing and reception shifts forming part of the role.
If you're passionate about developing people, creating a positive workplace culture, improving clinic performance, and delivering exceptional client experiences, we'd love to hear from you.
Why This Role is Different
Wetherill Park is a clinic where people genuinely enjoy coming to work.
Our team is known for being supportive, adaptable, collaborative, and down to earth. We work hard, but we also make time to help one another, celebrate successes, and maintain a workplace where people feel valued and respected.
The clinic is led by a highly regarded Veterinary Director who is passionate about patient care, enjoys mentoring colleagues, and believes great outcomes come from strong teamwork and open communication.
This is not a clinic that believes in micromanagement or unnecessary bureaucracy. Instead, you'll be trusted to lead your team, make decisions, and work alongside the clinic leadership team to create an environment where both people and patients thrive.
About the Clinic
Greencross Wetherill Park is a busy and established small animal clinic with a moderate medical and surgical caseload.
Our team enjoys the variety that general practice provides, from routine healthcare and preventative medicine through to more complex medical and surgical cases. The clinic has built a reputation for delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining a positive and collaborative team environment.
You'll be supported by a passionate and experienced team that enjoys learning together and delivering high standards of patient and client care.
About the Role
This is a full-time, hands-on leadership position and would best suit a Veterinary Nurse who enjoys balancing people leadership, clinic operations, nursing duties, and client care.
As Practice Manager, you will be responsible for creating the conditions that allow your team to succeed.
You'll work closely with the Veterinary Director, nurses, reception team, and regional leadership team to ensure the clinic runs smoothly while maintaining a positive and engaged culture.
Your role will include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing clinic team members
- Creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and respect
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, rostering, and team development
- Working closely with the Veterinary Director to achieve clinic goals
- Monitoring clinic performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
As a hands-on leader, you'll remain actively involved in the clinic's daily operations. Alongside your management responsibilities, the role will include regular veterinary nursing and reception shifts, supporting the team during busy periods, annual leave, and day-to-day clinic operations.
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys helping others succeed and leads by example.
We're looking for someone who:
- Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
- Has previous experience as a Practice Manager, Head Nurse, Senior Veterinary Nurse, or similar leadership role
- Is confident supporting reception, nursing, and operational functions of the clinic
- Has strong leadership and people development skills
- Enjoys coaching, mentoring, and supporting team members
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrates strong organisational and business management capabilities
- Can balance empathy with accountability
- Is proactive, solutions-focused, and adaptable
- Is passionate about creating a positive workplace culture and exceptional client experience
Most importantly, you're someone who enjoys being part of the team, isn't afraid to jump in and help wherever needed, and understands that great clinic culture starts with strong leadership.
Why Wetherill Park?
Located in Sydney's west, Wetherill Park offers a fantastic balance between career and lifestyle.
- Easy access to major transport routes across Sydney
- A strong and welcoming local community
- Excellent cafés, restaurants, and shopping nearby
- Beautiful local parks and green spaces
- A more relaxed pace than many inner-city locations
- The opportunity to build a rewarding career while maintaining work-life balance
It's the ideal location for someone looking to enjoy the benefits of a busy and rewarding career without sacrificing lifestyle.
Why Join Greencross?
As part of one of Australia's leading veterinary groups, you'll enjoy:
- Competitive salary package
- Full-time role with flexibility
- Ongoing leadership development and mentoring
