Position Objective:

The Principal Psychologist - Personality Disorder Specialist provides expert clinical leadership to advance best-practice assessment,treatmentand support for consumers with personality disorder across Forensicare. The role champions contemporary, evidence-informed approaches, strengthens workforce capability and supports the delivery of high-quality psychological care for individuals with severe personality disorders within forensic mental health settings.

Duties:

• Lead and deliver specialist clinical education, consultation and workforce development initiatives relating to personality disorder and forensic mental health.
• Provideexpert advice to clinical and program leaders, contributing to strategic planning, servicedevelopmentand evaluation activities.
• Build capability across multidisciplinary teams through supervision,consultationand implementation ofbest-practiceframeworks.
• Foster strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service integration and support consumer recovery.
• Contribute to research,innovationand the translation of contemporary evidence into clinical practice.

About You:

You are a highly experienced and respected psychologist with a passion for improving outcomes for people with complex personality disorders. You bring significant clinicalexpertise, strong leadershipcapabilityand a commitment to evidence-based, trauma-informed care.

• Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and an Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology, ClinicalNeuropsychologyand/or Forensic Psychology.
• Masters or Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology or Neuropsychology.
• APHRA registration.
• Extensive experience providing assessment,treatmentand consultation to individuals with severe and complex personality disorders.
• Proven experience leading, mentoring and supporting clinicians and multidisciplinary teams.

This role operates within a dynamic environment and requires a capacity to understand the complexities of the service delivery environment, and the concerns of stakeholders and the broader community. This role includes the need to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment across community and some residential-based settings. The Dual Disability Clinician will be required to manage the operation of the Glaser clinic - Community Forensic Dual Disability Clinic (CFDDC) at Forensic Disability Services. The CFDDC is a small clinic operating one day per week, for community and residential clients with an intellectual disability and co-morbid mental illness who display risky anti-social behaviors. This clinic is a project between Forensicare and Forensic Disability Services that is set up to respond to a recognised need for prevention, intervention and collaborative responses for people with dual diagnoses involved in the criminal justice system.

The Dual Disability Clinician is also responsible for supporting the consultant forensic psychiatrist and the registrar to complete assessments in a timely manner and may be required to deliver individual and group treatment programs run by Forensic Disability Services.

• Assist the consultant forensic psychiatrist and the registrar to assess, treat and provide any subsequent reports on clients with a dual disability and forensic concerns referred to the Dual Disability Clinic.
• Prepare a range of assessments and complete written reports including Mental Health Plans and Assessment Reports on clinic clients and provide these to stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate medical records and client data on a range of databases.
