You will provide strategic direction and executive oversight while empowering Program Coordinators and managers to lead day-to-day program delivery. You will establish clear expectations, monitor performance, remove barriers, manage strategic risks and ensure the portfolio delivers against agreed service, workforce, financial, compliance and community outcomes.
Key Areas of Accountability
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will:
Provide strategic leadership - translate organisational and Board priorities into clear portfolio plans, measurable outcomes and accountable delivery.
Lead community health programs - provide executive oversight across a diverse portfolio and ensure services are integrated, responsive and focused on meaningful community outcomes.
Champion Aboriginal community control - ensure Aboriginal community voices, Elders, families and lived experience meaningfully influence service design, delivery, evaluation and improvement.
Drive financial sustainability - oversee budgets, financial performance, resource allocation, funding agreements, grants and opportunities for sustainable service development.
Strengthen governance and performance - maintain executive oversight of risk, quality, compliance, incidents, performance measures and continuous improvement.
Lead and develop people - build a high-performing, culturally safe and accountable workforce, with strong workforce planning, capability development, performance management and succession planning.
Build strategic partnerships - develop trusted relationships with government agencies, funding bodies, community organisations and sector partners to strengthen service integration, advocacy, innovation and community outcomes.
Advise the CEO - provide high-quality executive briefings, strategic advice, recommendations and assurance on portfolio performance, risks, opportunities, funding, workforce and emerging issues.
About You
We are looking for a senior leader who combines strategic vision with strong executive accountability and understands what it takes to translate strategy into measurable results.
You will bring:
- Significant senior leadership experience across multidisciplinary teams, multiple programs or complex service portfolios.
- Demonstrated experience providing strategic leadership while maintaining executive oversight through managers and Program Coordinators.
- Strong financial management experience, including budgets, grants, funding agreements, acquittals, financial reporting and financial risk.
- Demonstrated capability in governance, risk management, compliance, quality assurance and performance management.
- Strong workforce leadership, including workforce planning, capability development, performance management and organisational change.
- Experience working with government, funding bodies, community-controlled organisations and senior external stakeholders.
- The ability to provide high-level strategic advice, executive briefs and recommendations to a CEO and/or Board.
- A strong understanding of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services, self-determination and culturally safe, community-led practice.
- Highly developed communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship-management skills.
- The ability to turn community priorities, organisational strategy and funding requirements into measurable service outcomes.
A relevant tertiary qualification in business, management, health or a related discipline is desirable. Extensive experience in the Aboriginal health sector within a community setting, together with demonstrated Aboriginal leadership capability, will also be highly regarded.
Experience within the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector, grant-funded programs, service redesign, innovation, strategic partnerships or external committee representation will be advantageous.

Come Work With Us!We are seeking an emotionally intelligent, client centred, passionate and enthusiastic Senior Mental Health Clinician to join the Nurturing Connections Team.
Nurturing Connections is a parent-child relationship program which aims to improve outcomes for children and families through evidence-based assessment and intervention for caregivers and their infants and young children.
The Senior Mental Health Clinician position will work with caregivers experiencing significant mental health challenges, and other parental stressors (e.g. substance use, DV, trauma, etc), who are pregnant or caring for a child up to age 5, where there are impacts on the caregivers ability to establish an early attachment relationship with their infant/child. The Nurturing Connections multi-disciplinary team will work within the community and across government and non-government organisations.
The clinician will use high levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge to support families engaged in the service. They will plan, coordinate, and implement high quality mental health care one-on-one with parents/caregivers/children, as well as support and work with whole families, facilitate therapeutic group programs.
If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteria.

- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice, and development of education tools or programs to support others in providing service excellence.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
- Demonstrated experience in providing advice to managers on clinical service development, practice change and service redesign.
- Current unrestricted NSW drivers licence and willingness to travel.
