The Nurturing Connections multi-disciplinary team will work within the community and across government and non-government organisations.

The clinician will use high levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge to support families engaged in the service. They will plan, coordinate, and implement high quality mental health care one-on-one with parents/caregivers/children, as well as support and work with whole families, facilitate therapeutic group programs.

If you are an overseas qualified Social Worker, you are required to have your qualifications assessed by the AASW to meet the position criteria.

This position will involve home visiting and travel to other sites across SESLHD.

• Social Worker or Occupational Therapist qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award, current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning; Registered nurse (with current AHPRA registration) having at least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition holding approved post registration nursing qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is to be appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation; Psychologist with a recognised 4 year degree in Psychology (with current registration with AHPRA) along with completion of 12 months at the 9th year of service and thereafter point on the salary scale for Psychologists.
• Extensive post graduate clinical experience in mental health, and previous experience in working with families of infants/children in which parents are experiencing severe and complex psychosocial and psychiatric problems and demonstrated knowledge of the impact of mental health problems and mental illness on parenting, parent-infant/child relationships and infant/child development.
• Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
• Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice, and development of education tools or programs to support others in providing service excellence.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.
• Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
• Demonstrated experience in providing advice to managers on clinical service development, practice change and service redesign.
• Current unrestricted NSW drivers licence and willingness to travel.
