A Northern NSW hospital requires a Senior Medical Officer in General Practice from 26/11/2024.
SHIFTS:
0800hours Tuesday 26th November 2024 ongoing – we would offer a 3 x month contract to start.
From 19th December 2024 until 6th January 2025 the GP clinic will close for the holiday season so the Doctor would be covering the ED and inpatients plus on call only in this time.
The GP clinic then reopens from the 6th.
Remuneration is at the NSW Health capped locum rate of $2000/day (24hours period) per rostered shift CMO/GPs with more than 5 years’ experience and/or Fellowship.
We need an experienced Medical Officer/s (PGY5 +) who is able to work as a Sole Practitioner to cover the MPS including GP Clinic, ED and Inpatient Medical Ward. The Doctor will be working as a Sole Practitioner with direct telephone links to Lismore Base Hospital Consultants. The locum will be supported in the hospital by very experienced Senior Nurses in the ward and ED.
The community health service includes an Aboriginal Health Worker, Allied Health, Community Nursing and Wound Care Clinic. The Emergency Department provides care 24/7.
The GP Clinic operates Monday to Friday 9-5, from the MPS.
The MPS provides a 15bed high care Residential Aged Care unit offering supported living with an Activities Officer and Nurses.The inpatient unit has four single rooms.

The Staff Specialist will provide leadership and expertise in the management of male hypogonadism, fertility preservation (sperm cryostorage), infertility and transgender medicine, providing ambulatory clinical management and treatment for patients and families in the CRGH Andrology Department. They will ensure a high standard of professional performance and encouragement of an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Applicants must have and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Endocrinology and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award.
Position is currently available. In addition, applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within two months from the beginning of the 2026 Clinical Year on 2 February 2026, may be considered.

What you’ll be doing:
The role of the Registered Nurse within the Mental Health units include, providing high quality evidence based physical and mental health care to consumers, their families and carers within a recovery and trauma informed care framework.
Providing safe compassionate person-centered care through the assessment, risk assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary team to achieve safe quality care outcomes that meet the goals of the individual within the least restrictive environment. This includes information and education regarding their legal rights and responsibilities under the Mental Health Act.
Effectively planning safe transfer of care plans in collaboration with the consumer their family or carers, the multidisciplinary team, community mental health team (CMHT), non-government providers and other agencies.

Ward 7B is a mixed medical/surgical ward where you will gain experience in peritoneal and haemodialysis, pre and post renal transplant care, complex wound management, and management of bladder irrigation and ileal conduits. Professional development is encouraged and supported. The unit has a 12 hour roster pattern to encourage work-life balance.
What you'll be doing
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.

The Ambulatory Care Centre is a dynamic and vibrant facility, housing over 40 outpatient specialty clinics, serving non-admitted patients. With an average of 600 patient presentations daily, we offer specialist consultations, minor procedures, and post-operative care in a state-of-the-art environment.
What you'll be doing
Medical Day Procedure Unit (MDPU) in Ambulatory Care is a district-wide service providing comprehensive infusion and day procedure services for non-admitted patients within NSLHD. The service provides complex infusions and procedure services to medical specialties and patients requiring infusions prior to major surgical procedures.
The service is a nurse-led clinic that plays a key role in the Emergency Department (ED) and hospital avoidance through rapid triage and acceptance of referrals for frail and vulnerable patient populations requiring frequent hospital admissions.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 will be responsible for patient care coordination, referrals triaging, capacity management, organising blood products and medication authorisation and sourcing high-cost pharmacy items. This role will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless patient care and enhancing operational efficiency and patient experience.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Division 1 Registered Nurse with post registration qualification relevant to speciality and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of their post graduate qualification.
- Evidence of and commitment to patient focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Evidence of advanced level of knowledge and skill related to management of speciality area.
- Demonstrated knowledge in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes, models of care, evidence-based practice and practice development.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team, with an emphasis on service delivery, quality of care and team cohesion.
