Location: North-West Tasmania
Position Type: Multiple positions available - permanent, full time shift worker, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The Position
We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses for the Emergency Department at the Mersey Community Hospital and the Northwest Regional Hospital. We are looking for passionate nurses who not only are clinically sound but also value the human interactions that build the core meaning of what it is to care for people. The ideal candidate will be professional, dedicated, compassionate, and empathic, taking time in their day to connect with patients while they are at their most vulnerable. The Team
The Emergency Departments at Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) and North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) deliver high-quality emergency care to communities across North-West Tasmania. Each site has its own identity, leadership, and patient flow, whilst continuing to work closely together, operating under shared nursing and medical governance, with a strong focus on teamwork, professional support, and safe, patient-centred care. The Northwest Emergency Departments are dynamic, high-energy environments where no two shifts are the same. Featuring dedicated resuscitation bays, acute and sub-acute care areas, a fast-track zone, and an ED short stay unit.
The team is passionate about supporting our nurses from day one, with a structured onboarding experience that includes a Transition to Emergency Nursing program designed to build confidence and capability in this fast-paced specialty. This recruitment campaign is for experienced Emergency Department nurses, with successful applicants appointed to the Emergency Department service and allocated to either MCH or NWRH based on service requirements. You Will Need
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years experience as an RN in an Emergency Department.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting.
- Competent in resuscitation roles inclusive of airway, procedures and scribe.
- Completed ETEK and triage competent.
- Post graduate degree in emergency nursing/critical care (desired).

Selection Criteria
Clinical Leadership experience at a senior level in a tertiary, regional health service. or equivalent.
Holds or is working towards Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA), or Associate Fellowship of RACMA (AFRACMA), or equivalent post-Graduate health management qualification(s).

The Package
Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging

About the roleReporting to the Nugel Senior Program Manager, the Nugel Team Leader, will play a key leadership role in working with Aboriginal children and families, and Government and sector partners to strive for better outcomes for children and to build the capacity of families so that children can remain at home safely, or can be transitioned home.
Nugel implements Section 18 of the Child Youth and Families Act (CYFA) which transfers responsibility for decision making and direct work with Aboriginal children and their families from Department of Families Fairness and Housing (DFFH) Child Protection to VACCA. Key to transforming the way child protection is delivered, is implementing Nugel's unique practice approach which is based on Cultural Therapeutic Ways; a whole of agency approach that places culture at the centre and integrates this with theories of self-determination and trauma. The Team Leader is central to ensuring that this approach is delivered by staff they manage.
The Team Leader will provide supervision and leadership to a team of Case Managers, ensuring that all practice requirements are met. This includes investigation, assessment and action needed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in the program, in addition to developing case plans that meet the long-term needs of the child. Always ensuring staff practice in culturally safe ways in line with the Nugel Practice Approach and VACCA's Cultural Therapeutic Ways. In addition, they may be required to carry a small caseload.

About the role:As the CCL Radiographer Senior, you will deliver high-level, independent radiography within Rockhampton Hospital's CCL, working across diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures including PCI and pacing.
You will work autonomously within the CCL while collaborating closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care. The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) provides specialist inpatient and community based mental health assessment and treatment services for children and adolescents experiencing moderate to severe mental illness/disorder with significant functional impairment, associated complex needs and risk. - Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
- Evidence of research, innovation and leadership in service delivery and obstetric medicine.
- Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.

About the RoleThe Nurse Unit Manager is accountable for the efficient and effective delivery of operating services within the cardiac, vascular and respiratory specialties, ensuring nursing and perioperative care meets legislative requirements, professional standards and best practice guidelines. You will manage the staff and resources of your discipline mix, and work in close partnership with the Perioperative Services team, theatre schedulers, anaesthetists, surgeons and relevant Executive and Clinical Program Heads.
Leadership and culture - Provide visible professional leadership, promote shared governance and a high performance team culture, and represent the perioperative service in hospital committees and forums.
Operational performance - Coordinate the efficient use of operating sessions, review emergency bookings and reallocations, and escalated delays, cancellations and utilisation issues that affect service efficiency.
Clinical practice and patient safety - Ensure care meets patient needs, provide timely intervention and problem solving within theatres, and foster a culture of patient advocacy and evidence based nursing practice.
Quality, risk and accreditation - Lead quality improvement projects and clinical audits, manage critical incidents, and implement recommendations arising from investigations and root cause analyses.
