The aim of this Nursing Director role is to provide strategic and operational leadership, coaching, governance, and direction (in and after hours across 7 days) for the SHCC. The role will report to the RN 5.3, Advanced Nursing Director- SHCC. The role balances and integrates strategic and operational perspectives within a specified span of appointment.
The role will:- Ensure the health system is working efficiently, using available capacity across the system to manage patients, resulting in improved patient flow and outcomes, and ambulance utilisation.
- Have a holistic view of a patient's end to end journey, being able to monitor and support a balanced system response to issues before they have an impact on patient care.
- Lead complex system and process improvement across LHNs through coaching, mentoring and training, recognition and support.

Responsibilities:
Ensure the study staff who will conduct the protocol have received the proper materials and instructions to safely enter subjects/patients into the study. Ensure the protection of study subjects or patients by performing eligibility review, verifying that screening, informed consent procedures and protocol requirements are adhered to according to the applicable regulatory requirements.
Ensure the integrity of the source data reported by careful source document review. Monitor data for missing or implausible data.
Ensure study data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and compliance; identify deficiencies, deviations and discrepancies, and initiate corrective action as required.
Ensure the resources of the Sponsor and Fortrea are spent wisely by performing the required monitoring tasks in an efficient manner, according to SOPs and established guidelines, including managing travel expenses in an economical fashion according to Fortrea travel policy.

The Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU) is a 50 bed unit based at Dandenong Hospital that provides medium to long term inpatient treatment and rehabilitation for people who have continuous and severe symptoms of mental illness. Monash Health SECU accepts people from the catchment areas of; Eastern Health, Peninsula Health, Monash Health and Alfred Health. Our collaborative multi disciplinary team is made up of; Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Clinical and Neuro Psychologists, Exercise Physiologist, Dietician, Music Therapist, Psychiatrists and Mental Health Nurses. The multi-disciplinary team provide treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation programs optimising individual function, for return to community living. NDIS plays an integral part in providing psychosocial support and care for our consumers and families during their stay supporting community transition.
About the Role
The position provides psychological services to consumers in the Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU). SECU is a 50 bed sub acute adult psychiatric inpatient unit, based at Dandenong Hospital. The multi disciplinary SECU team (MDT) provides medium to long term inpatient treatment and rehabilitation to consumers who have unremitting and severe symptoms of mental illness or disorder, who are unable to be effectively treated in a less restrictive setting and are unable to live independently.
The focus of the position is to provide evidence based psychological services to consumers of SECU who present with conditions including schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders and co m ob dium use disorders, cognitive impairment and/or behaviours of concern.

The OpportunityThe Multicultural and Multifaith Senior Mental Health Clinician is a specialist senior clinical position within the Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS).
Custodial FYMHS provides specialist multidisciplinary mental health assessment, treatment, consultation, care coordination and transition support to young people within Victoria's youth justice custodial system. Young people involved in the youth justice system come from diverse cultural, linguistic, religious and spiritual backgrounds. Their experiences of mental health, help-seeking, family, identity, trauma, justice involvement and recovery may be shaped by culture, faith, migration and settlement experiences, experiences of racism and discrimination, family and community relationships, and connection to culture and belonging.
This newly established role will strengthen FYMHS' capacity to understand and respond to these experiences and ensure culturally safe and responsive practice is embedded within mental health assessment, risk assessment, formulation, treatment, recovery planning, multidisciplinary decision-making and transition from custody.
Working as both a senior clinician and specialist practice resource, you will provide direct clinical care while strengthening the capability of clinicians, multidisciplinary teams and the broader service to deliver culturally safe and responsive care.
You will use specialist cultural knowledge, community perspectives and advanced clinical expertise to influence individual care, multidisciplinary formulation and decision-making, transition planning, workforce capability and broader service development.
The role will also support stronger connections between FYMHS, families, community organisations, cultural and faith-based services and other relevant supports, helping to promote continuity of care and culturally responsive transition and reintegration planning for young people moving from custody back into the community.
About YouYou are an experienced senior mental health clinician who combines strong clinical expertise with a demonstrated commitment to culturally safe, equitable and person-centred mental health care.
You are curious and reflective in your practice and recognise that cultural identity is individual, dynamic and intersectional. You are comfortable having thoughtful conversations about culture, faith, spirituality, identity, family, racism, discrimination and belonging and can support other clinicians and teams to develop confidence and capability in doing the same.
You will bring:
- Professional qualification as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, with relevant registration and/or professional eligibility requirements.

The position works across Custodial FYMHS services at Parkville, Cherry Creek and Malmsbury Youth Justice Precincts, with travel between sites according to service and clinical need.
Workplace vehicles are available for required travel between service locations, with travel undertaken within working hours.
