The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service (CLPS) is a specialised mental health team providing mental health consultation, liaison, advice and brief interventions to adult patients of the general hospital who are experiencing a psychiatric disorder, illness or psychological distress.
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) will provide clinical and operational leadership to the Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service, while also holding professional line management responsibilities for nursing staff across the Mental health services, Clarence Street, Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane (MAYAHCB) and Amanda Flynn Clinic.
Salary range: $75.40 - $81.09 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 + access to many staff benefits!
What you'll be doingYou will provide exceptional nursing management and be responsible for the clinical, resource management, education, research and material accountabilities of nursing within the department. The NUM will form part of the leadership team and work closely with the Psychiatrist of the service.
As the NUM, you will lead service in the development and operation management of services which include Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service (CLPS) and other mental health services within Mater Health. You will also provide professional leadership and clinical supervision to nurses working in other multidisciplinary teams, including Mater Clarence Street and Mater Young Adult Health Centre Brisbane (MYAHCB).
Other duties and responsibilities include:- Caring for and leading a team of professionals
- Communication and coordination of patient care

The Team:
Child and Youth Mental Health Services Aim:
We are seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist with extensive knowledge, understanding and experience in forensic mental health issues and risks, specifically in relation to young people, and their families/carers, presenting with complex mental health concerns and/or complex behaviours of concern. You will have a proven ability to conduct high level clinical assessments, including the development of comprehensive management plans and completion of court reports.
This new position has been developed as a recommendation from the recent Commission of Inquiry Report (Tasmania) to support young people in youth detention who require trauma-informed psychological intervention. The Senior Clinical Psychologist will have a passion for providing a person-centred approach and working within a multidisciplinary team environment.
As part of CYMHS Reform, clinical services in Tasmania are under development with many exciting professional, developmental and research opportunities available.
This position is based in Launceston in the new Divert and Connect Program which is currently in the early stages of development. This role will provide you with the opportunity to assist in implementing new programs in Northern Tasmania, working collaboratively with other government and non-government services. Travel to Ashley Youth Detention Centre will be required as part of this role.
The Role
- Provide comprehensive evidence-based clinical assessment, treatment, and assertive case management service, including the development and implementation of specialist treatment programs and group programs, and the provision of formal psychological reports as required.
- Provide high quality, timely evidence based written court assessment reports for young people appearing in Tasmanian Courts in relation to offences.
- Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team from a case management framework, including outreach and case management reviews, to ensure continuity of care and best practice outcomes for young people detained in youth detention.
You will need
- A minimum of five years post graduate experience, with extensive knowledge, understanding and experience of forensic mental health issues and risks in relation to young people and their families/carers presenting with complex mental health concerns and/or complex behaviours of concern with a proven ability to conduct high level clinical assessments including demonstrated problem solving, advanced therapeutic interventions and the development of comprehensive management plans and court reports.
- Proven high level interpersonal skills including oral and written communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making, together with the ability to develop comprehensive oral and written reports.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of effective liaison and consultation with other services and agencies in the context of providing specialised mental health assessment, advice, and training.

Prepare, plan, organize, and conduct site evaluation visits and report on these visits to assist in site selection.
Prepare, submit, and/or liaise with regulatory specialist colleagues, regarding the preparation of regulatory packages, importation/exportation requirements, and updates of Ethics Committee packages.
Negotiate site budgets, coordinate for site contract execution, track invoicing, and ensure timely site payments.
Prepare, plan, organize, and conduct site initiation visits.
Develop and maintain appropriate monitoring tools and project-specific documents.
Motivate and train investigators to ensure that the trial site personnel have a good understanding of the protocol, investigational product, and requirements of the trial so they can fulfill their obligations to conduct the trial accurately and to deadlines. Collect, review, and approve essential documents from trial sites, to ensure quality and compliance, and code documents for Trial Master File (TMF) filing.
Reconcile contents of in-house TMF and site's Investigator Site Files.
Coordinate distribution, tracking, handling, and destruction of investigational product and other trial supplies per site/trial requirements.
Maintain trial information using the clinical trial management system and any other tracking and reporting tools for the trial.
Support strategies to boost recruitment efforts.
Tertiary qualifications in a related science or health care discipline.
Previous experience in clinical trials within an academic, CRO, or pharmaceutical environment with more than 2 years' experience in on-site monitoring and site management experience is mandatory
Experience in Renal and/or Oncology clinical trials is a plus.
Demonstrate practical knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and global and local ethical and regulatory research requirements.
Display competence in the following technical areas: ethical and participant safety considerations, site start-up management, site conduct management, risk management, quality management, supply management, scientific concepts and clinical research design, and issue escalation management.
Demonstrate competence in the following business skill areas: negotiation and conflict resolution, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision making, and strategic thinking.

Availability Required: Full availability across the peak holiday season, including weekends, peak trading periods, and flexibility to pick up extra shifts throughout the week
What You'll Be Doing
As a Christmas Casual / Optical Assistant , you'll be at the heart of the store experience during our busiest time of the year. You will:
- Deliver Standout Experiences: Guide customers through their eyecare journey, offering expert styling advice, frame recommendations, and tailored vision solutions.
- Support Eyecare Needs: Assist customers with their optical requirements and ensure every visit is warm, engaging, and unforgettable.
- Drive Store Results: Bring high positivity and energy to a fast-paced retail environment, keeping the floor dynamic and operational standards high.
- Collaborate & Adapt: Build great relationships with fellow Optical Assistants, Store Leaders, and Optometrists to keep peak trading running smoothly.

What We're Looking For
- Seasonal Commitment & Availability: Full availability from the beginning of November 2026 through the end of January 2027 , with the flexibility to work weekends, key trading periods, and extra weekday shifts as needed.
- Customer-First Mindset: Previous customer service experience in retail, hospitality, or a fast-paced environment where customer satisfaction comes first.
- Passion & Energy: You bring positivity, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude to the team every day.
- Problem-Solving Skills: You love helping people find the right solutions and using critical thinking to resolve customer needs.
- Time Management & Reliability: Strong organizational skills to manage daily operational tasks without ever compromising the customer experience.
- Team Player: A knack for building strong rapport with teammates, store managers, and optometrists.
