The Role

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients of the St George Hospital and Health Service consistent with SESLHD and St George Hospital and Health Service policies, procedures and standards. The EN works under the direction and supervision of the RN and assists in the provision of nursing care. EN's retain responsibility for their personal actions whilst remaining accountable to the RN for delegate functions. All EN's must comply and act in accordance with recognised professional and organisational standards established by:NSW Health, The Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia SESLHD, St George Hospital and Health Service, Clinical Supervision at the point of care is the role and responsibility of each RN/Registered Midwife and EN within everyday clinical practice, in line with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses and Midwives.

Selection Criteria
- Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Holds a Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia approved qualification in medicines administration.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, other care providers, hospital clinicians, immediate team members and other stakeholders.
- Supports working in a person centered environment.
- Current professional practice knowledge base.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these principles.
- Demonstrated successful completion of a Nursing Diploma or completion by 30 September 2026.

What you’ll be doing
As an Advanced Trainee in Geriatric Medicine, you will provide effective medical services to patients under supervision, while developing expertise in geriatric medical practice, in a complex clinical environment.
Rotations are available in acute, subacute and community geriatric medicine as well as perioperative medicine. There is an expectation that you will rotate through St George, Calvary, Sutherland Hospitals and St George and Kareena Private Hospitals. The precise duties will vary according to rotation.

- MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia

What you’ll be doing
The Provisional Fellow (PF) position in Anaesthesia at St George Hospital is structured to allow trainees to practise at a more senior level. In addition to provision of elective and emergency anaesthesia, PFs will be involved in the teaching and supervision of junior trainees, research, quality assurance activities and departmental administration.
The year is designed as a bridge to consultant practice with the following opportunities:
Gain experience at a more senior level in the provision of anaesthesia, with the goal of achieving independent practice
During the year, there are opportunities to follow your own interests in both clinical and non-clinical pursuits, or also to stream into an ANZCA accredited fellowship in:
- Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine
- Obstetric Anaesthesia
- SimulationAll provisional fellows will gain further clinical experience in a range of subspecialty anaesthesia including trauma, major oncological surgery, cardiothoracic, obstetrics and education
All provisional fellows will gain experience in the management of the operating suite and in surgical triage as the Duty Anaesthetist
The case mix includes the following surgical specialties – cardiothoracic, vascular, orthopaedics, obstetrics/ gynaecology, neurosurgery, trauma, plastics, ear/nose/ throat, maxillofacial, urologic, breast/ endocrine, and paediatric surgery. The Department also provides services for cardiology, radiology, MRI and the endoscopy suite.

Port Macquarie Base Hospital is a 228 bed level five facility with a 24-hour Emergency Department and a range of specialist services, including intensive care, anaesthetics, cardiology, stroke, respiratory, paediatrics, obstetrics, general medicine, orthopaedics, urology, vascular, general surgery, gastroenterology, oncology, ophthalmology and mental health. This regional hospital has seen a huge growth in presentations and now sees 50,000 per year, with 25% paediatrics, fast track area and short stay unit. The Base Hospital is the main referral centre for the Mid North Coast and is a regional trauma centre. It is also affiliated with the University of New South Wales rural clinical medical school co-located on the hospital campus and Charles Sturt University.
Kempsey District Hospital is a rural hospital 45 minutes from Port Macquarie. It has approximately 30,000 presentations per year (25% paediatrics and 25% indigenous), There is on site medical wards, maternity services, rehab, surgery and mental health. Some patients will be referred to port Macquarie Base Hospital for specialty inpatient care. We strive to deliver a high level of consultant-led care to both our Emergency departments in the Hastings Macleay Clinical Network regardless of the location.

Principal Health Service Planner - Southern Adelaide Local Health Network

About the role:
Reporting to the Planning Lead, some of your duties for the role will include:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Provide high level and expert advice, professional direction and support to clinical leaders and practitioners to change culture and implement innovation, and to enable optimisation of the Health Service Planning project
- Undertake and interpret geographical, demographic, and epidemiological profiles, as well as assessment of clinical activity trends, to inform clinical service planning

- Conceptualising, developing and promoting future health service provision, with detailed knowledge of national and international healthcare trends
About you:
- Appropriate qualification in an Allied Health discipline from a recognised tertiary institution resulting in registration or giving eligibility for membership with the professional association
- Significant experience in a range of project work, policy development and planning work involving both teamwork and individual effort to achieve significant outcomes
- Registered Nurse and or Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience
- Demonstrated high-level experience in policy, strategic planning and program development at a senior level including the preparation of reports, policies and plans for complex organisational issues
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to a range of audiences, including the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts, critical issues, and changes in strategies/practices/policies and to effectively negotiate successful outcomes
This is a single vacancy, with three possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.

What You'll Be Taking Care Of

- Performing regular grounds maintenance and rubbish collection to keep the facility safe and presentable

About the role:

- Provide health promotion and education, to patients/clients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individual,
- Provide, with increasing capacity over time, support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing care

- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,

Overview:
The Project Officer is responsible to the Director, Blood, Organ and Tissue (BOT) Programs for the development, co-ordination and implementation of project work that supports the program and policy development activities within BOT Programs, including:
- provision of high-level secretariat and project support for Statewide committees that support blood, organ and tissue programs and fulfill State Government obligations under national agreements and relevant legislation.
- coordination of procurement and contract management activities, including provision of advice to the Director to inform improvement of processes and liaison with service providers to monitor and evaluate performance against contract deliverables.
- coordination of administrative processes within the unit, maintaining best practice systems for contract, project and records management which will contribute to the smooth operation of BOT Programs.
- preparation of high-quality documents, including briefings, reports, discussion papers, or other formal business communication.

Consultant Hepatologist – SA's Tertiary Liver Unit| Balance & Clinical Impact

About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Unit, this role provides clinical services of the highest possible standard to South Australian Hepatology and Transplant Medicine patients.
Duties for the role will include:
- Providing appropriate specialist level care to patients
- Providing clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers and Medical Students
- Participating in programs designed to provide personal growth and development
- Participating in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols
- Participate in and contribute to the academic life of the Department at the direction of the Head of the Department
About you:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award
- Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Hepatology
- Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff
- Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in Hepatology and Liver Transplant Medicine

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Grade 2 Infection Prevention & Control is an experienced registered nurse authorised to function with an extended autonomy of clinical decision-making within Infection Prevention and Control (IP&C).
The Infection Prevention and Control Nurse Specialist will apply an extended level of professional / clinical knowledge and judgement in the delivery and leadership of complex specialty nursing care through their advanced clinical skills and authorised extended scope of practice.
The Infection prevention and Control Nurse Specialist provides clinical leadership that facilitates the ongoing development and evaluation of clinical practice within the Infection Prevention and Control Specialty.

CNS’ are employed according to the criteria outlined below, and in line with the NSW Public Health System Nurses and Midwives (State) Award. 'Clinical Nurse Specialist/Clinical Midwife Specialist Grade 2" means: a Registered Nurse/Midwife appointed to a position classified as such with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 classification encompasses the Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 1 role criteria and is distinguished from a Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 1 by the following additional role characteristics:
- Exercises extended autonomy of decision making.
- Exercises professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical skills and undertakes one of the following roles:
- leadership in the development of nursing specialty clinical practice and service delivery in the ward/unit/service or;
- specialist clinical practice across a small or medium sized health facility/sector/service; or
- primary case management of a complete episode of care; or
- primary case management of a continuum of specialty care involving both inpatient and community based services or;
- an authorised extended role within the scope of Registered Nurse practice.
Incremental progression to the second year and thereafter rate will be upon completion of 12 months satisfactory full-time service (or pro rata part time service).
The ideal candidate will have:
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Relevant post graduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control and at least 3 years recent experience working in Infection Prevention and Control, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care and service delivery issues and problem solve through the development and use of clinical management plans.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making while working as part of a multidisciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
- Demonstrated skills in the development & facilitation of staff, patient and carer education.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation and evidence of leadership in safety and quality innovation.
- Demonstrated competence in the use of health-related information technology.
