Some opportunities aren't about starting something new. They're about taking something important and helping it grow.
As Youturn prepares to commence delivery of the established headspace Port Augusta service and its outreach locations, we're seeking an experienced and passionate Centre Manager to lead the service into its next phase of growth, innovation and community impact.
This is a unique opportunity to honour the strong foundations already in place while bringing your leadership, vision and expertise to strengthen services for young people, families and communities across Port Augusta, Oodnadatta, Marree, Leigh Creek, Hawker, Yalata and Quorn.
If you're an experienced people leader who believes in youth participation, community connection, culturally safe practice, and delivering high-quality mental health services, we'd love to hear from you.

As Centre Manager, you'll play a critical role in ensuring young people can access integrated, youth-friendly, family-inclusive services across mental health, physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drugs, and work and study support.
You'll work alongside young people, families, consortium partners, community organisations, health providers, and key stakeholders to create a service that genuinely reflects local needs and delivers meaningful outcomes.
Most importantly, you'll help build a culture where young people feel heard, respected, safe, and supported.
What You'll Be Doing
This is a diverse leadership role where no two days will be the same.
You'll:
- Lead the operational, clinical and administrative functions of the service.
- Build, mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding outcomes for young people.
- Foster strong relationships with local communities, service providers, consortium partners and key stakeholders.
- Oversee service quality, governance, reporting, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive community engagement and ensure services remain accessible, inclusive and responsive to local needs.
- Use data, feedback and service insights to continuously improve outcomes and strengthen service delivery.
- Champion youth participation, family-inclusive practice and culturally safe approaches across all aspects of service delivery.
Who We're Looking For
We're seeking a leader who combines strategic thinking with genuine compassion.
Someone who can bring people together, navigate complexity, and inspire others around a shared vision for supporting young people and their communities.
Essential Qualifications
You'll hold:
- Degree qualifications in Allied Health, Social Work, Behavioural or Social Sciences, Mental Health Nursing, Occupational Therapy or another relevant health-related discipline.
- Current professional registration, accreditation or membership relevant to your discipline, including AHPRA registration or AASW membership/eligibility where applicable.
You'll bring demonstrated experience in:

- Managing multidisciplinary teams, including recruitment, supervision, coaching, performance development and workforce planning.
- Clinical governance, quality improvement, risk management and service evaluation.
- Contract, funding and operational management, including reporting against organisational and funding requirements.
- Developing and maintaining partnerships across health, community and government sectors.
- Using service and workforce data to drive performance, identify opportunities and improve outcomes.
- Delivering youth-focused and family-inclusive services within complex service environments.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
You'll have strong capability in:
- Clinical governance and integrated service delivery models.
- Mental health and community-based health service systems.
- Project management, organisational development and service planning.
- Continuous quality improvement, risk management and compliance frameworks.
- Electronic client management and reporting systems.
- Stakeholder engagement and collaborative service delivery.
- Youth participation, family-inclusive practice, cultural safety and community engagement.
- Delivering services aligned with the headspace Model Integrity Framework and associated reporting requirements.
It Would Be Great If You Also Have

- Leadership experience within the not-for-profit sector.
- Experience working in rural, regional or remote communities.
- Knowledge of the challenges and opportunities impacting young people's health and wellbeing in regional Australia.
Why Join Youturn?
At Youturn, we're committed to creating safe, inclusive and supportive communities where people can thrive. Every day, our teams work alongside young people and families to create opportunities for healing, growth and connection.

Description About MeI am a woman in my 40s living independently in the community in Plympton. I am social and enjoy meeting new people, making friends, and staying connected with people I know. I like getting out for coffee, going for walks in my local community, and having a bit of an adventure when exciting events are on. At home, I love watching TV, especially Home and Away. In the past, I have kept a blog and spoken publicly about living independently with assistive technology and self-directing my supports.
About My SupportI live with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy, severe dysphagia, and chronic pain. My dedicated support team assist me in all aspects of my daily life, including personal care, transfers with a lifter, nutrition and medication via my PEG, mealtime management, and supporting me to live out my vision for a good life. At times I also struggle with my mental health and keeping a positive outlook, and I value a team who can recognise those times and support me through them.
Role OverviewWe would like to bring someone onto the team with regular shifts on our fixed roster for approximately 20-30 hrs per fortnight to start. Additional hours will be available when other team members are on leave. For example, a team member going on maternity leave in late November or early December, and a couple of team members who will be away for large parts of December and January.
Ideal CandidateI work well with people who are:
- Fun, funny and bubbly
- Empathetic, confident and assertive
- Proactive - happy to step up when things need doing
- Strong communicators who build good relationships
- Reliable, flexible and willing to learn
Two to three years' experience with high-intensity supports, enteral (PEG) feeding, and supporting someone with their mental health would be an asset.
Work ScheduleI prefer to work with a fixed monthly roster as much as possible so that my team and I can plan our lives around it. There's also room for flexibility when needed. We're offering 20-30 hours per fortnight to start.
My roster is built around 2:1 support - two workers on shift together - at the times of day I need it, and passive overnights, where you sleep over and are only called on if something comes up. Passive overnights are a new thing for me. At present, my team works across roughly the following shifts:
- 3 pm - 10 pm
- 6 pm - 8 am (2:1 support, 5 hours active and 8 hours passive overnight)
Tuesday evening, 3-10 pm, is a required shift.
The rest of the hours will either come from the Wednesday 3-10 pm shift or one or more of the 9:30 - 1:30 am or 6 pm- 8 am shifts.
Compensation and TrainingPay is at the Level 2.1 casual base rate, currently $45.28 per hour. Ongoing training is provided.
RequirementsAll applicants should possess or be prepared to obtain:
- A valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- A current NDIS worker screening check
- A current First Aid certificate
- A current Assist with Medication certificate
- A current Enteral Feeding certificate
- A current Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals certificate (Dysphagia)
For more than 30 years, the Community Living Project has worked in close partnership with families to build opportunities for a good life for their family member who is living with a disability. Community Living Project focuses on building inclusion. To us, this means that everyone matters and all people are welcomed, included and contributing to community life. We work with one person at a time to craft individualised support in a way that ensures each person (and their family) has as much control as possible over all aspects of their life. We believe all people should have the opportunity to pursue a unique lifestyle that is personally meaningful, relevant and typically intertwined in their community. We will not offer you a generic 'program', 'vacancy' or 'place'. Instead, we will help you to craft your participation and inclusion in the community.
