Transform lives, every single day
Do you want a career that means more? At Anglicare Sydney, we bring the strength, the support and the strategy to make it happen.
We're a well-respected not-for-profit that's been serving people in need for over 170 years. Each year, we achieve life-changing outcomes for thousands of people who rely on our person-centred support.
As our Senior Case Manager - Carer Recruitment & Placements, you'll play an important role in finding, assessing and supporting people who can provide safe, nurturing homes for children and young people who need them.
From supporting prospective carers through recruitment and assessment to responding to placement requests and matching children with suitable carers, your work will help create strong foundations for children, young people and families.
Be welcomed into a compassionate, respectful and purpose-driven community where we don't just talk about values - we live them.
Your opportunity
Working within our Foster Care, Adoption and Family Support (FAF) team, you'll support prospective carers through the journey from initial enquiry through to assessment and authorisation.
You'll undertake thorough assessments of foster and dually-authorised carers, drawing on multiple sources of evidence, critical reflection and your professional judgement to assess suitability and support quality decision-making.
Your role will also extend into placements. You'll respond to placement enquiries, maintain strong relationships with carers, understand their availability and participate in matching processes to help identify suitable placements for children and young people.
With integrity and resilience, you will:
• Respond to foster care and adoption enquiries and support prospective carers through all stages of recruitment.
• Complete thorough and timely assessments of foster and dually-authorised carers.
• Undertake relevant probity and suitability checks and develop individual carer support and development plans.
• Respond to placement enquiries and facilitate appropriate placements for children and young people.
• Build strong relationships with carers and maintain regular contact to understand their capacity and availability.
• Participate in matching meetings and contribute professional assessment and judgement to placement decisions.
• Conduct annual carer reviews and contribute to ongoing carer support and development.
• Participate in the on-call roster, professional supervision and ongoing development activities.
What you'll bring
You're an experienced child protection or foster care professional who understands that recruiting a carer is about much more than completing an assessment.
You'll bring the empathy and sensitivity to build trusting relationships with prospective and existing carers, alongside the analytical and critical-thinking skills required to undertake robust assessments and make sound professional judgements.
You're confident navigating complex situations, having difficult conversations and working collaboratively with carers, colleagues and external stakeholders.
Most importantly, you understand the importance of safe, thoughtful and well-informed decisions for children and young people.
What's required:
• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology, Community Services or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience across child protection and foster care services.
• Demonstrated experience undertaking assessments.
• Sound understanding of legislation, policy and processes relating to foster care in NSW.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Well-developed analytical, critical-thinking and assessment capability.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence.
• Ability to meet Anglicare's probity requirements, including a Police Check and Working with Children Check.
Why Anglicare?
We provide meaningful opportunities and choice, both for the individuals and communities we support and the dedicated people here who make it happen.
At Anglicare, you'll get the security, stability and opportunities that come with a strong, well-established organisation that's ready for the future. You'll belong to a community of kind, humble and respectful people of all faiths and backgrounds. You'll also be supported to gain new knowledge, deepen your experience and expertise, and shape a rewarding career.
On top of that, here are just some of the tangible benefits you will enjoy in a career with us:
• Flexible work options to get the most out of work and life.
• Pay less tax on your income and increase your take-home pay. With salary packaging, up to $15,900 of your income is tax free.
• Spend up to $2,650 on accommodation, meals and entertainment also tax free with salary packaging.
• Ongoing professional development and training to advance your career.
• Exclusive discounts to over 400 retailers.
• Employee Assistance Program and Fitness Passport with discounts to over 800 gyms for you and your family.
We're many services, with one purpose, to meet people where they are and walk with them. At Anglicare, we believe everyone is Made for Connection - with God, with each other and with the places we call home.
In Foster Care, Adoption and Family Support, those connections can change the course of a child's life. As a Senior Case Manager - Carer Recruitment & Placements, you'll help identify and support the carers who make those connections possible.

- Drive continuous improvement across planning, reporting, finance systems and data management processes
What you'll bring
You are a commercially astute planning leader who enjoys connecting strategy with execution. You can see the bigger picture while also understanding the financial and operational drivers behind organisational performance.
You are equally comfortable facilitating planning discussions with senior leaders, developing board-quality business plans and translating complex analysis into clear recommendations.
What’s required:
- CA qualification required
- 10+ years' progressive finance experience, including significant experience in FP&A, business planning or strategic planning leadership roles
- Experience leading organisation-wide planning, forecasting and performance management processes.
- Strong experience developing and presenting board-quality business plans and executive reporting.
- Experience partnering with senior executives and influencing key business decisions.
- Advanced financial modelling, reporting and analytical capability.
What’s preferred:
- Experience in group, corporate or enterprise planning environments
- Exposure to large, complex or multi-business organisations
- Experience within capital-intensive industries such as property, infrastructure, healthcare, aged care or related sectors
- Strong knowledge of planning and reporting tools including Workday Adaptive, Hyperion, TM1, Power BI or similar platforms
- Proven ability to connect strategic planning, business planning and financial outcomes into a single enterprise view
Why Anglicare?

Today we employ 6,000 staff and are blessed to serve alongside 1,500 volunteers. We provide meaningful opportunities and choice, both for the individuals and communities we support and the dedicated people here who make it happen.
At Anglicare, you’ll get the security, stability and opportunities that come with a strong, well-established organisation that’s ready for the future.
