About the position
La Trobe has established a number of Research Platforms, including the Bioimaging Platform, to support researchers and enhance their capacity to produce high-quality research. A full-time position is now available to support the flow cytometry capability. The Health Protection Manager provides operational and professional leadership to the Health Protection team, coordinating case, contact and outbreak management activities to achieve effective public health outcomes. The position is accountable for workforce leadership, service planning, quality and risk management, and compliance with relevant legislation, policies and public health protocols. The appointee will be primarily responsible for managing the flow cytometry capability, ensuring that instruments are maintained and fully operational, users are trained and competent, and, where required, providing a cell sorting and analysis service and advice on flow cytometry experimental design.
Skills and Experience

- A postgraduate degree in life sciences, with subsequent relevant technical experience; or extensive relevant technical experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
