WA Country Health Service is seeking both experienced and developing staff development nurses and midwives to work in Western Australia (WA) in remote or regional locations, as well as Perth based positions. For SDN’s these opportunities expand across newly qualified nursing, transition to specialty programs, postgraduate opportunities, along with the support of mandatory training and professional development opportunities. Opportunities are available for SDN in specialty areas such as but not limited to perioperative, emergency nursing, chemotherapy/cancer services, palliative care, aged care, and regularly unique opportunities open up to meet changing service needs and new initiatives roll out. WACHS also have a unique virtual SDN service running from the WACHS Command Centre supported by emergency nursing SDNs if you are a passionate educator we can match you with an innovative service seeking to grow their staffing capability to ensure our country patients can get the care they need close to home.
Opportunities are available for direct entry Midwives to apply to become a WACHS Staff Development Midwife working across the continuum of care in maternity services regionally or Perth based. These opportunities expand across newly qualified midwifery programs, postgraduate opportunities, along with the support of mandatory training and professional development opportunities. Regularly unique opportunities also open to meet changing service needs and new initiatives roll out.

About this opportunity
We are seeking qualified and enthusiastic Podiatrists for senior roles across the WA Country Health Service. As a Senior Podiatrist, you will plan, coordinate, and provide a Podiatry service to a designated caseload of inpatient, outpatient and/or community clients. About this role
The positions are responsible for the psychiatric and assessment and treatment of persons under their direct care across the State Forensic Mental Health Services including Admitted, Community, Prisons, Consultation-Liaison and Court services. The role will provide clinical leadership, coordination, and direction to a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to delivering evidence based best practice treatment. The role involves evaluating the provision of person centred-care coordination, within recovery orientated model. Additionally, the Consultant Psychiatrist will supervise Trainee Psychiatrists, participate in teaching and research activities, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
The role reports to the Head of Service - Consultant Psychiatrist and oversees multiple positions.

We are especially seeking candidates who are experienced in delivering comprehensive patient care across a variety of settings, including both hospital and community environments.
About The Pool:
Joining the Consultant Psychiatry pool means submitting one application to be considered for multiple positions across WACHS throughout its duration. You can specify your preferred locations as listed below:

- South West - Bunbury
- Midwest - Geraldton
- Pilbara – Port Hedland and Karratha and availability in your application.
This pool accepts applications from medical practitioners who hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry or RANZCP trainees who are in their penultimate year of training and have completed all training requirements or Specialist International Medical Graduates who meet the Medical Board of Australia recently introduced the Expedited Specialist pathway. $723.76 - $919.16 per session (inclusive of base sessional rate, PDL and 11.5% superannuation)
Northern Regions Year 1 - 6 (Kimberley and Pilbara)
$526,977 – $626,991 per annum (inclusive of base salary, PDL and 11.5% superannuation).
OR
$1010.20 - $1201.92 per session (inclusive of base sessional rate, PDL and 11.5% superannuation).

WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is seeking experienced Psychiatry Registrars to join the Rural Psychiatry Training WA (RPTWA) program across rural Western Australia.
This Recruitment Pool is for Full time or Part Time Fixed Term appointments for existing RANZCP Trainees seeking to transfer to the RPTWA program. Appointments for up to 5 years (dependent on RANZCP training stage), with the possibility of extension.
Locations: Include Albany, Broome, Bunbury, Busselton, Geraldton, Northam, Karratha & Port Hedland
Salary: South of the 26th parallel
Trainee Psychiatrist Year 1-7, $170,462.88 to $228,201.12 pa*
*Inclusive of base salary $140,819 to $192,371p.a, professional development $11,380pa and 12% superannuation. Generous accommodation & relocation subsidies also available.
Salary: North of the 26th parallel
Registrar Year 1-3, $178,223 to $194,925 pa*
* includes base salary $147,748 to $162,661 pa, professional Development allowance $11,380 pa and 12% employer contributed Superannuation. Generous accommodation & relocation subsidies also available)Salary: North of the 26th parallel
HSMP Year 1-6, $300,622 to $377,620 pa*
* includes base salary $226,833 to $293,564 pa, professional Development allowance $34,696 pa and 12% employer contributed Superannuation. Generous accommodation & relocation subsidies also availableAppointment will be made based on skills and experience.
This is an active “open-ended” recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:
- The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
- Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
- Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/06/2027.
Position Profile:
We are seeking to appoint to the position of Trainee Psychiatrist in various regions across WACHS. The successful applicant will work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary and medical teams. Under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist, this position provides assessment and management for clients requiring specialist psychiatric care. The successful applicant will be committing to a length of training contract (two to five years) with WACHS.
The Rural Psychiatry Training WA (RPTWA) program is overseen by the Western Australia Branch Training Committee, in accordance with the requirements for obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). The training program provides clinical and formal supervised training experiences in rural generalist psychiatry, with Stage 3 trainees completing Certificates of Advanced Training considered on a case-by-case basis.
Essential Criteria
- Commitment to a rural post in psychiatry.
- Good interpersonal skills and high-level communication skills.
- Current RANZCP trainee or on approved Break in Training
- The ability to satisfy the Selection Panel of suitable academic record, RANZCP training record and employment history.
- Commitment and eligibility to undertake psychiatry training.
Desirable Criteria
- Clinical competence in both General Medicine and Psychological Medicine.
- Ability to use proficient problem-solving techniques, coping strategies and ability to tolerate and deal effectively with stressful situations.
- “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
- Rural background and/or rural clinical experience
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
