Purpose of the PositionThis position will provide specialised clinical service to clients of the Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Services throughout Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD), specifically in the areas of sexual assault and domestic and family violence. The incumbent will work within the multidisciplinary PARVAN Medical Forensic Team, and work with various PARVAN Services including the PARVAN Sexual Assault and PARVAN Domestic and Family Violence Services, to provide integrated psychosocial, medical and forensic management of child, adolescent and adult victims of sexual assault and or Domestic and Family Violence. The incumbent will report directly to the PARVAN Medical Forensic Adult Clinical Lead, Staff Specialist, within the PARVAN Medical Forensic Team.
You will provide clinical management and treatment of patients under your care in a Northern Sydney Local Health District facility or service. This care will be provided within the scope of clinical practice endorsed by the NSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.
The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement activities within NSLHD.
This position is temporary with the possibility of extension based on performance, funding and need.
Selection Criteria- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of a recognized Australasian Specialist College or recognition as a specialist by the Medical Board of Australia.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
- Demonstrated post- graduate training and experience to practice at a high standard and at a specialist level in sexual assault medical services for adolescents aged 14 years and older and adults. Demonstrated experience in the provision of medical and forensic assessments for children aged 13 years or younger is an advantage. However, if such experience is not already held, a willingness to provide paediatric services is essential, as is a commitment to undergo training to provide those services.
- Demonstrated experience in Domestic and Family Violence medical/forensic services, or a willingness to undergo training to provide DFV Medical/ forensic services.
- Preparedness to support and participate in a 24/7 on-call service including on-call rosters already existing or subsequently established, if requested and credentialed.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, has well developed time management and problem-solving skills in a clinical setting and an ability to be flexibly, organized and autonomous and demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, risk management and change management to ensure excellence.
- Demonstrated track record in the supervision and training of junior medical staff, including prevocational and advanced trainees.
- Demonstrated commitment to participation in peer review and to participation in self-education and continuing professional development.

- Lead and support a team of Managers to achieve service excellence.

- Manage budgets, resources and service outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop a good understanding of Flourish Australia's philosophy, recovery orientated services/culture, Disability Standards, National Standards for Mental Health Services, Quality Assurance principles, Grievance policy, Work Health & Safety, and Privacy policy and relevant legislation.

Selection Criteria- A relevant tertiary qualification in the behavioural sciences or a health-related discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in a relevant senior management role.
