About the roleWe are seeking a proactive Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to deliver assessments, crisis response and specialist Family Violence crisis case management services to victim survivors. The role also includes working with individuals and families intensively to provide support to move through the crisis program to safe and longer-term accommodation. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted until June 2028, based on-site in Sunshine, VIC.
ConditionsCompensation is in accordance with the SCHADS Award Level 5.
Responsibilities- You will successfully Establish effective relationships with clients that encourage self-determination and participation and uphold the principles of the National Family Violence Model of Care
- Make ongoing assessment of the victim survivor's issues, needs and circumstances from initial intake to exit
- Develop individual case plans in collaboration with victim survivors and include a range of interventions that address the needs or goals of clients
- Assist victim survivors to access holistic support services and establish community connections, and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers
- Must hold or be 'working towards' an Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Level 7 or above qualification in family violence or a related discipline. AQF Level 7 qualifications include Bachelor Degrees, Graduate Certificates, and Master Degrees
- Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Practitioner (Recommendation 209)
- Experience working in the family violence sector (desirable)
- Experience in specialist family violence and/ or child well-being work (highly desirable)
- Demonstrated case management experience and skills
- Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision required
- Advance computer skills including experience in data and record management
- A Victorian Employee Working with Children Check
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence

A place to make a difference:In this full-time (or part-time, minimum 4 days per week) maximum-term role, you'll work as part of the Armadale West Early Years Partnership to strengthen connections between families, services and the broader early years system.
The Family Connector is not a traditional case management role. Instead, you will engage with as many local families as possible, particularly families who may experience barriers to accessing services. You'll build trusting relationships, listen to families' experiences and priorities, connect families with relevant services and programs, and support access to early years services that promote children's development, wellbeing and school readiness.
You'll work primarily across three local schools and the Armadale Community and Family Centre, meeting families in places where they feel safe and comfortable. You'll also work closely with the Early Years Partnership Local Working Group to support delivery of the Community Plan, strengthen collaboration between local services and further develop a sustainable local hub model.
You will make a difference by:
- Building trusting, respectful relationships with local families with children aged 0-4, including families who may experience barriers to accessing services.
- Engaging with families through outreach, community activities, groups and informal opportunities to connect.
- Listening to families to understand their experiences, needs and priorities and identify barriers to accessing support.

This role requires:- Demonstrated experience building trusting and respectful relationships with families, particularly families experiencing vulnerability or barriers to accessing services.
- Experience using strengths-based, trauma-informed and family centred approaches to engage with children, parents and caregivers.
- Knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and the services and supports that help children develop, learn and thrive.

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior headspace clinician who can provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people aged 12-25 years, their families and supports.
This role requires a clinician who brings depth of practice, sound clinical judgement and confidence working at a senior level.
