About the role:
Reporting to theHead of Unit - ENT, this role is responsible for for the provision of high quality care to patients while working in wards and other areas such as theatres, emergency department and clinic outpatients.
Duties for the role will include:
- Overall care and supervision of the delivery of that care to patients under the care of the Department or referred to the Department (in particular ensuring timely review and management of patients referred by the Emergency Department).
- Perform surgical procedures on a minimum of 100 patients drawn from the ENT waiting list, utilising underutilised theatre capacity at Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga.
- Deliver laryngology, general ENT, sinus, and postoperative clinic services with consultant support available but operating with a high degree of clinical autonomy.
- To ensure that appropriate management is undertaken of patients in the Emergency Department and Outpatients.
- General administration of the ward procedures relating to medical care, ensuring adequate documentation in the case notes, discharge summaries and follow up appointments
- In association with Consultants and other Unit Registrars, supervise the resident staff and students on a day-to-day basis ensuring ready availability to provide advice and guidance. In doing this the Registrar will ensure that the RMO, students and interns are clearly aware of their tasks.
- Participate in educational activities as required.
- Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers.
About you:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner.
- Successfully completed the General Science Surgical Exam (GSSE).
- Demonstrated high standards of clinical practice in the relevant specialty.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues and other professional staff, proficient in written and spoken English.
- A commitment to providing a quality service to patients and their families.
- Appropriate time management skills/punctuality.
- High level skills in problem solving and decision making.
- Be able to operate on patients in an autonomous capacity at a level equivalent to a senior registrar at a competent grade and nearing completion of their specialist training.
- Contribute to teaching and training of medical, nursing, allied health and other relevant staff at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Contribute actively to the ongoing improvement of the hospital's care delivery systems.
- A candidate with Specialist registration in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery is preferable.

The Consultant is responsible for the provision of high-quality inpatient, outpatient and community based Paediatric Rehabilitation. The Consultant is responsible for ensuring that clients' functional levels are restored or managed using evidence based best practice.
Key duties of the role- Provision of high standard clinical services to patients using evidence based practice
- Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate training in the discipline of paediatric rehabilitation services
- Contribution to advances in knowledge in the specialty
- Encourage and foster a positive culture and safe work environment
- Participating in quality management, quality assurance and risk management activities and ongoing improvement of services
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent

- Previous experience working in large public hospitals and community settings

The Staff Specialist is responsible for the delivery and management of high-quality inpatient, outpatient and community Diabetes and Endocrinology Medicine services, ensuring clients receive evidence-based care to optimise and maintain their functional outcomes.

The Paediatric General Surgery Registrar contributes to the delivery of high-quality surgical services to inpatient and outpatient paediatric patients across WCHN. The role provides broad exposure to emergency, elective and ambulatory paediatric surgery, including participation in after-hours and remote on-call services. Working under Consultant supervision, the Registrar develops advanced clinical skills while contributing to teaching, research, quality improvement and multidisciplinary patient care. Opportunities may also exist to provide paediatric surgical services at Flinders Medical Centre.
Key duties of the role- Provide safe and effective surgical care for paediatric inpatients and outpatients, including pre-operative assessment and post-operative management.

- Providing clinical leadership, assessment, and evidence-informed care coordination for community-based consumers
- Developing and reviewing individualised recovery-focused care plans in partnership with consumers, families, and carers

- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with NALHN and SA Health standards and mental health legislation requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA, with demonstrated post-registration experience in mental health nursing

- Confidence working within the Mental Health Act and relevant legislative frameworks
- Strong assessment skills across a range of presentations including psychosis, mood disorders, and co-occurring conditions

BloodSafe Nurse Consultant - SALHN
Southern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the BloodSafe program as a part-time, ongoing Nurse Consultant based in Adelaide's southern metro region. In this role, you'll provide specialist guidance on transfusion safety and patient blood management across SALHN, working alongside clinical and multidisciplinary teams to drive meaningful quality improvement. If you have a background in transfusion medicine and the confidence to influence practice at a network level, this is a genuine opportunity to make your expertise count.
About the role:
Reporting within the Clinical Governance Unit, this role is responsible forproviding specialist consultation, education, and quality improvement support across SALHN to ensure safe transfusion practice and compliance with patient blood management standards.
Duties for the role will include:
- Integrate contemporary information and evidence with personal experience to support the decision making, innovative thinking and objective analysis that is expected at this level e.g. Expert clinical knowledge underpins and informs their ability to support, lead and/or provide expert clinical care to improve and optimise nursing/midwifery care, Provide leadership in collaboration with others in the areas of safety, quality and efficiency of blood and blood product usage,
- Use available information systems: to inform decision making, to implement and co-ordinate processes for quality improvement, to monitor and analyse incidents and accidents, to ensure quality and safety is not compromised, to evaluate outcomes and convey information to staff,
- Assist in implementation and evaluation of systems and processes that improve the provision of care across SALHN,
- Contribute to the development of, implementation of, and monitoring of corporate policies and processes and lead in their area of expertise,
- Management of resources with due diligence
About you:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
- Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience, Previous experience in a self-directed position, Proven experience in audit, quality improvement processes, evidence-based practice, research, protocol development and / or education

Make Your Mark in Vitreoretinal Care at Flinders Medical Centre
An exciting opportunity exists for a Consultant Ophthalmologist with expertise in Vitreoretinal Surgery to join the Ophthalmology Unit within Southern Adelaide Local Health Network.
About the role: As a Consultant Ophthalmologist (Vitreoretinal Surgery), you will provide high-quality specialist ophthalmology services with a subspecialty focus on vitreoretinal surgery and retinal disorders, while contributing to the delivery of comprehensive general ophthalmology services across the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network. You will provide care across outpatient, inpatient, operating theatre and after-hours on-call settings and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care.
You will be actively involved in teaching and supervising ophthalmology trainees, medical students and junior medical officers. The role includes participation in clinical governance, quality improvement, research and continuing medical education activities. The successful applicant will also participate in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) screening and management and work closely with Paediatric Consultants, Neonatologists and other multidisciplinary team members involved in neonatal eye care.
About you:
- Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia as an Ophthalmologist.
- Demonstrated expertise in vitreoretinal surgery and the management of complex retinal disease.
- Experience in teaching, supervision and mentoring of trainee medical staff.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and participating in quality improvement and clinical governance activities.
- Excellent communication, leadership and collaborative practice skills.
