MRI's investment management software runs the full real estate investment lifecycle for fund managers, asset managers and their investment accounting teams: Acquisition. Underwriting new deals - appraisal, DCF, ERV, exit yield, cap-rate sensitivity Asset management. NOI, opex and capex, leasing, performance against the underwriting case Accounting and investor reporting. Capital accounts, NAV, allocations, and the quarterly pack that reaches the investor Forecasting. Long-range forecasts, scenario analysis, hold-versus-sell modelling at asset and fund level Debt management. Facilities and drawdowns, covenant monitoring, gearing and interest cover Valuations. Valuation cycles, fair value, unrealised and realised gain or loss Exit and distribution. Disposal, the distribution waterfall, carried interest, return of capital to LPs
The roleYou own this product line for Asia Pacific - what we build across that lifecycle, in what order, and why. You are also the voice of the APAC customer inside MRI and the face of the product to customers in the region. Those are two halves of one job: you cannot argue credibly for regional priorities in a global roadmap unless clients here already know and trust you.
What you will own- Customer and market
- Spend real time with clients and prospects across Australia, New Zealand and the wider region - and bring back evidence, not anecdotes
- Represent the APAC customer in global roadmap forums, and win the argument with data
- Be the product's public voice in the region: client forums, industry events, analyst and partner conversations
- Run win/loss and competitor analysis, and keep structured feedback loops with support, services and sales
- Trends and regulation
- Track where the regional market is moving - fund structures, capital flows, and the pressure to automate fund operations
- Stay current on the frameworks our clients work under: fair value and investment property standards under AASB and IFRS, ASIC-regulated managed investment schemes, AREIT and unlisted trust reporting, and the New Zealand equivalents
- Turn regulatory change into product requirements early enough to be an advantage rather than a scramble
- Strategy and roadmap
- Set and communicate the product line strategy and vision for APAC
- Define, prioritise and communicate the roadmap - and hold the line on sequencing when priorities compete
- Own the full lifecycle from concept through build and launch to measured adoption
- Make and defend build, buy or partner decisions
- Commercial
- Write and maintain business cases, including pricing and packaging
- Define the KPIs your products are judged on - ARR, adoption, win rate, retention - and report against them honestly
- Work with pre-sales so demos land, and with marketing on positioning, launch and enablement
- Ten or more years in product management for enterprise software, with real ownership of outcomes rather than backlogs
- Working knowledge of real estate investment management or fund operations - acquisitions, fund accounting, valuations, debt or distributions - or a strong adjacent finance domain you learned fast
- Evidence of discovery done properly: you have changed a roadmap because of what you heard, and you can say what you heard
- Credible with senior client stakeholders - CFOs, fund controllers, heads of asset management, investment directors
- Comfortable deciding on incomplete data, and able to explain the reasoning afterwards
- Clear written communication; much of the collaboration is asynchronous and across time zones
- A master's degree in business or finance
- Direct exposure to Australian or New Zealand fund structures and reporting obligations
- Background in an asset manager, fund administrator or real estate investment firm, not only in software
- Experience with MRI products
- Experience mentoring less experienced product managers
- Flexible working arrangements
- Annual performance-related bonus
- 6x Flexi AnyDay: knock 2.5 hours off your day!
- Me Days: additional 3 days of annual leave for qualifying employees
- Engaging, fun & inclusive culture: check out the MRI Software APAC Insta feed and stories!
- Join our employee-led resource groups to maximize your experience at work.
- Add 16 extra hours to your time off to shorten your workday as part of our Flex at MRI program.
- Utilize 16 hours of paid time to volunteer.
- Know great workers? Our generous employee referral scheme rewards you for bringing in talent.
