An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Emergency Medicine Consultants to join West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG). Located approximately 100 km (1.5 hours) east of Melbourne, our 24-hour Emergency Department comprises 16 treatment spaces, including two resuscitation bays, and manages more than 27,000 presentations annually, with approximately 25% paediatric.
Consultants are rostered between 7.30 am and 11.00 pm, provide an after-hours on-call service, and work within a well-supported multidisciplinary team. Medical staffing includes Interns, Residents, GP Registrars, an accredited Emergency Medicine Registrar program and a 24/7 Medical Registrar. Additional specialist support is available on call from Physicians, Paediatricians, Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Surgeons and Anaesthetists.
Warragul Hospital's Emergency Department is accredited by ACEM for the six-month Rural and Remote Special Skills rotation for FACEM trainees. Supported by an experienced and proactive nursing team, the department offers a collaborative, patient-centred environment with a strong commitment to education and high-quality emergency care.
West Gippsland Healthcare Group provides acute medical, surgical, obstetric, emergency, community and aged care services across the Shire of Baw Baw. Established in 1888, we serve a diverse rural, residential and agricultural community with a primary catchment population of approximately 47,000. WGHG holds full accreditation with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and maintains strong partnerships with regional and metropolitan health services.
Required Skills and Experience
- Fellowship of the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM).
- Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience managing adult and paediatric emergency presentations, including advanced resuscitation skills.
Our preferred candidate will have:
- Undertake medical practice within approved credentialed scope of clinical practice as an Emergency Medicine specialist.
- Provide evidence-based and quality clinical care of individual patients in all domains of medical practice:
- Clinical examination.
- Identification of clinical problems and health opportunities.
- Plan of overall clinical care and health promotion.
- Maintenance of concise but comprehensive, accurate, legible records of patient status and progress and associated correspondence.
- Ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner and maintain flow in the emergency department in order to meet required organisational and Department of Health targets.
IMPORTANT:Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.

The Team & RoleThe department of respiratory medicine comprises sessional medical specialists, advance trainees in respiratory medicine, basic physician trainees and HMOs. The whole clinic, inclusive of all patients seen by Renal Advanced Trainee and the BPT is about 15 patients.
Bayside Health Peninsula, at present have 4 Nephrologists, 2 Nephrology Nurse Practitioners, 3 satellites haemodialysis units, a 4-chair acute dialysis unit, high level ICU services, acute vascular and chronic vascular services, comprehensive imaging and interventional radiology services, chronic haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services, CKD education and CKD programme and comprehensive outpatient clinics (CKD, CKD education, HD, PD). There are regular histopathology sessions with a Renal Histopathologist and there is a weekly programme for CME and unit meetings.
Skills & Experience Required- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent

Frontline Support Services is looking for an experienced researcher who enjoys investigating complex organisational issues and producing evidence that supports practical reform to join the Innovation stream of the project.
The Frontline Support Services (FSS) project is an initiative that realigns defined administrative, procedural and preparatory tasks from frontline police to a dedicated support workforce of Frontline Support Officers (FSOs). FSS operates as a division of Continuous Improvement, Uplift, and Technology, and its ultimate mission is to return capacity to frontline members for patrol, response, visible policing and active investigation.
The project has established the FSS operating model, recruited and deployed a growing workforce of FSOs, and introduced comprehensive monitoring to determine whether the anticipated benefits of the initiative are being realised. The Innovation stream is responsible for the continuous improvement of the FSS model, guiding it from establishment through to maturity and expansion, and identifying further opportunities to improve frontline service delivery.
The Senior Research Officer will design and deliver a program of applied research and evaluation to inform the future development of FSS. The role will investigate emerging service models, assess the effectiveness and impact of existing initiatives, establish the evidence base for new opportunities, and translate complex findings into clear advice for senior decision-makers. The role will draw on advanced qualitative and quantitative research methods and work across operational policing, organisational design, workforce reform, and continuous improvement.
